Rimage PRISM include Ribbon Saver, that Reduces
ribbon waste by using only the amount needed for printing, thus
lowering printing cost and maximizing throughput. Printhead
Integrity Check, that automatically tests the printhead printing
elements ensuring the highest quality images. Ribbon Validation
that monitors ribbon usage and indicates when ribbon capacity is
running low. Prism Plus stands for a new printing algorithm that
allows for a lower print strobe setting, extending printhead life.
Finally the new cleaning Mode allows the user to quickly clean the
entire printhead surface using the Prism cleaning pad.
The Rimage Prism Plus is a Direct thermal transfer CD DVD
line printer. The Printing Rate .65 inches/second @ 300 x 300 dpi.
Typically this thermal CD DVD Printer will print .45 inches/second
@ 300 x 600 dpi. The typical Print Resolution is 300 x 300 dpi or
300 x 600 dpi.
All Standalone CD DVD Printers need to be connected to a PC and
the Rimage Prism Plus is no exception. Your PC must be configured with
either Windows NT4.0, 2000, or Windows XP. The choices for the thermal
retransfer Ribbons are Color 3-color (CMY) panel ribbon that yield 500
images per ribbon. Monochrome (red or black)ribbons that yield about
2,100 full CD images, or greater than 4,000 when the ribbon saver feature
is activated. Rimage has also recently introduced a Blue monocolor thermal
retransfer ribbon that yields 2,100-4,000 CD or DVD Print images.
